IPSA is focused exclusively on information security through document destruction service. Our programs meet and exceed the “Reasonable Care” standards established by federal and state laws and regulations. IPSA delivers added value through this exclusivity and our ability to streamline operations in order to deliver the most cost effective processes for the collection, confirmed destruction, and recycling of confidential material.
Our core document destruction service is to provide secure, privacy waste containers throughout locations where needed. We empty containers into secure transport and shred on-site within our mobile trucks, or transport the material to a secure location as determined by mutual agreement. All materials are shredded or pulverized at an approved facility to ensure that destroyed material cannot be reconstructed. Paper residue is then packed tightly into 1,200- pound bales before de-inking, and you are provided with a certificate of destruction.
Additionally, IPSA will provide secure containers for the deposit of non-paper media to be destroyed. Non-paper media includes, but is not limited to: microforms, diskettes, magnetic tape (reel and cartridge), optical disks, CDROMs, DVDs, videotapes and photographic films.
IPSA's fleet includes many different document destruction service vehicles. The dominant units are 0-2 year’s old Shred Tech equipment which are capable of reduction to 5/8 inch pierce and tear material. Also many of our facilities utilize the “Hammermill” process that has the ability to pulverize any paper material.
On-site mobile shredding operation: Commercial grade shredding equipment that processes within an enclosed and securable vehicle (truck or trailer) located at the customer’s site. Shredding speed and capacity can vary; however, the Shred Tech on-site mobile units shred approx 3,000 lbs of material per hour. The Hammermill process can reduce materials up to 5,000 lbs per hour. All materials are randomly shredded to a width of 5/8” or less per NAID AAA certification requirements, either by means of continuous shred, cross cut or pulverization [pierce and tear method] to comply with company standards.
Mobile document destruction service is our most inquired feature. However, most clients choose offsite document destruction service due to our dedicated security and its cost benefits.
Off-site, plant-based operations include Commercial-grade document destruction service equipment that conducts the process within a secure building environment; this includes the staging, shredding, baling, and temporary storage of destroyed materials.
Paper media is destroyed by equipment with OEM specifications that produce particle sizes no larger than those listed within the NAID process requirements. Standard operating procedures state that the shredding of confidential materials must take place within three (3) business days. IPSA’s offsite service facilities can shred approximately 3,000 to 25,000 lbs per hour depending on the shredding process and equipment type (location dependent).
At the facilities, unauthorized access to the designated secure area is effectively prevented. All visitors entering the building sign a log with their name, time in, affiliation and time-out. Visitors must be escorted or under the supervision of an access employee at all times while in the plant. There is a monitored alarm system in place and utilized when the building is unoccupied. There is a closed-circuit camera system monitoring all access points into the facility. IPSA transports documents following strict AAA NAID Certified operational security.
In addition to paper-based materials, IPSA also provides services for most all media formats. Non-paper media includes:
• Microforms
• Diskettes
• Magnetic tape (reel and cartridge)
• Optical disks
• CD-ROMs
• DVDs
• Videotapes
• Photographic films
